Paper Abstract
The paper aims to direct a suitable pairing to be applied on a decentralized controller for the ALSTOM Gasifier benchmark process. The appointed pairing should have Decentralized Integral Controllability (DIC) feature, minimum interaction and compatibility with chemical laws, and Relative Gain Array (RGA). To achieve this goal, five necessary DIC criteria are investigated, and inappropriate pairings are omitted. Afterwards, those pairing that are not practically implementable are eliminated. Finally, the remaining pairings are sorted with respect to interaction values and RGA, then appropriate pairing is selected. There is no DIC pairing in all three operating points at the same time but, a pairing is suggested that is DIC and practically implementable in operating points 50% and 100%. The proposed pairing is a new pairing compared to the previously mentioned one.
